Broken subframe mount???
Ok the car is my 1987 300SDL, if you look under the car right behind the rear doors their are two round brackets, one on either side of the car. The brackets have a big bolt in the center, I think the subframe is mounted to them, their is a big bushing behind each one. When I first got the car I started to jack it up by the one on the passenger side and bent it. Well I just checked it a few minutes ago (I was under their cleaning ) One of the four things that go to the center part it broken, it looks like it cracked threw! The car drives fine I wouldn't know it was broken unless I saw it.
Two questions how quickly do I need to fix this? Can I do the bushing back their at the same time? How do I fix it?

Hattie,
Sixto knows all you would need to know about subframe mounts on the SDL. Send him a PM if he misses this post. |

Ok so basically I remove that broken peice by taking off the 3 bolts and replace it? I will try to change the bushings while I'm in their. Hopefully driving it like this for the rest of this week won't hurt anything, I don't think so.

I recommend you park it for 6 weeks and let everything settle down a bit.
