Strange switch issue

I have had a strange issue with a driver side rear window working intermittently.

The strange part: When the window was not working, I could pull the rear switch from the switch socket and immediately plug it back in. The window would then work perfectly. A day or two later I would have to repeat the same scenario, window worked then and would only work briefly. I did this many times, especially when I had to get the window up when I thought it was going to rain. Pulling the switch always made it work. I inspected the wires but everything seems okay.

I also took both the front and rear switches out and cleaned them but that did not fix the issue.

A few days ago I took both rear switches out and swapped them. I thought by doing so it would cause the opposite window to fail if it was the switch. After doing so, all of the windows have worked flawlessly since. The doors have been opened and closed multiple times too.

Any ideas?
