So what. Go collect and filter some used cooking oil, cut it 50/50 with diesel and run it instead of the expensive stuff.

Thumbs up ooooops

Sorry, not meant to offend, but laughing is our only course of action at this point.
We, as a nation, need a more realistic energy policy. Like maybe, Biodiesel at your local gas station?!?!??? Oh and tax credits for EVERY diesel vehicle on the road. Not the current tax credit for businesses that purchase passanger vehicles exceeding 6000 pounds curb weight....

No, no apology is neccessary! And you are certainly not offending! I too was making a harmless jesture in a reply and I was surprised that someone eliminated my post!

Not just YOUR fuel mileage

Almost everything we buy is moved by a diesel powered vehicle at some point. Notice your household bills going up? Food prices? Dancing girls?

It's still not that bad. In europe it costs like 60 bucks to fill your tank.

6000 lbs. & up? What? Relaxed CAFE? I thought that helped keep our economy moving in a robust manner. I mean really, Hummers to move the children to-and-from soccer games has to do some good for the economy.

Turmoil in the world of oil? I don't think any of the three diesels in my yard caught the program comparing our standard (cost) of living to that of England.

Question I Don't Get it??

What I dont get is that if Diesel is a by-product of Gasoline, then how is it that I am paying more at the pump for Diesel than Regular unleaded? How can oil companies validate a price difference that high? I am paying $2 for Diesel while unleaded at the same gas station is $1.89. That is reidiculous to me and it makes me furious!

More distillate product is diverted to home heating fuel at this time of the year and its a good excuse to gouge the consumer...

best time to buy diesel is early spring after heating fuel demand lessens and before farm demand picks up.

fuel at that time was 1.19 a gallon; now its 2.19 a gallon...

still cheap at twice the price??

Would it be morally or at least polliticaly incorrect to suggest we hire some of the out of work terrorists to fire bomb a few oil companys, either here or abroad, whichever would be more usefull? Hell, everyone else in the world seems to get things rolling these days by violence, let's go kidnap some wealthy arab oil shiek type and start plucking out his beard on the internet till fuel prices go down, something.. sheesh..

Here in CT, I paid $2.10 for diesel. Before you know it, it will be cheaper to buy gallons of Crisco, Wessen, etc.,, veg. oil and run on that. Someoone mentioned about alternatives like bio-diesel. Running on any form of veg. oil would not only reduce our dependancy on foreign oil, but it would help the farmers in our country.
