New calipers
Tried to rebuild my front calipers today to find out that it was better to buy new ones, a friend of mine got a repair shop so I had a good deal on them.
After I instal the new calipers how do I make sure there is brake fluid between the cylinder and the bore, do I just connect everything and flush the system? Thanks.

It is called bleeding. After install, start the car but make sure it is secured. Get someone to pump the brakes. On about the 3rd or 4th pump have them hold the pedal down as you lossen the bleeder valve. tighten back up and have them let go of the brake and start over.

You've been around here long enough to see many threads regarding bleeding of brakes. There are manual methods that require two people and there are inexpensive power bleeders that allow you to get the job done in a fraction of the time.
Check out some of these threads on bleeding of brakes. You will learn a lot and it will avoid us to start from the beginning again. You need to understand the process carefully so that you do not introduce air into the lines during the process. |

I know how to bleed the system, what I wanted to know is if bleeding (I called it flushing, my mistake) is enough to get the fluid in all the right places when installing new calipers. I just want to play it save.

Bleeding is the only thing that will get all the fluid in all the right places.
Provided that you do it correctly. |
