successfully dropped the fuel tank today
blew some air in. the strainer ring didn't arrive so that stayed in place. cleaned the tank with 3 qts 70% isopropal alk, swished it around and drained it out. then bl;asted it agoain with air. once more with the alk and drained again. it came out greyer the second time. also coming out were several quarter sized round nickel thick globs of crud. then swished one more qt of alk and drained it. it came out clers and blasted the remaining alk out with the air compressor. filled it back up with the fuel and called it a successful day.
drove way out of my way to put 12.2 gal of b100 in the tank and paid over 40 bucks for that. then drove home. i know the fuel delivery system won't let me down again. it was closing in on the reserve when i filled it so i know i can go low in the tank and be safe. now for the radio. |

83-240D,
It sounds like you have a fuel fungus problem. It may reoccur if you don't treat he fuel system with a biocide like Biocor or a fuel conditioner with a biocide in it. P E H |

in all honesty i have no idea how long the car was in the bone yard(different from the bone head doctors yard) before the sellor found it. |
