Wierd electrical/starting problem......

I just moved the CD back inside after moving some boxes out of the garage. Took the door panel off and put on a new map pocket I scored at the junk yard. Jumped back in to move it out again and now I have no battery or glow plug light. I wouldn't have even noticed except usually a flick of the key and it's always started. This time after a second I knew something was not right. It cranks, but no glow plug or battery light.

The only other think I did was put in a different ACC from the junk yard also (didn't fix my problem, but that'll be a later post).

I checked the glow plug fuse, it's OK. I am having a little alternator issue, a little bearing noise and I have to tap the accelerator to get the dash lights to go off once started, but I don't know how that would effect the glow plugs.

Any ideas? This has never happened before. I'm stumped because I just moved it a few times.

Thanks,

Craig

I don't hear anything from the glow plug relay, but I put my hand on it and felt a click after about 30 or 40 seconds. I assume it's shutting off.

check the GP fuse (80A strip fuse) and the fuses in the fuse box -- I'd bet the 80A fuse just split and you now have no GPs or lamp as a result. Won't start, either....

The lack of an alternator lamp would likely be another fuse.

I checked all the fuses in the box and the strip fuse. I'm still under there looking.

Yep, strip fuse. I gave it a little push and it's broken. Maybe that's why I had to cycle the GP's 2 times for a nice stumble free start (wishful thinking).
