Fuel lines & Ambient temp

The fuel lines that connect to the injectors on my 1995 E300D are staring to leak. I purchased the replacement hose, but I can't get the aluminum tube/pipe (for lack of correct description) that crosses over the top of the engine to come off. I removed the screws that appeared to be holding it on, but it wouldn't budge. I even tried tapping it with a hammer, but it still wouldn't move. I need to get that part off so I can remove the plastic cover on top of the engine to get to the fuel lines. Does anyone know how to remove the aluminum tube/pipe?

Also, the ambient temp display is not working. When I turn the headlights on it lights up but no display- it's just blank. Is there a separate fuse for the ambient display?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
