Exclamation Need serious help!

My lovely 1987 300 TURBOdiesel (W124 bodystyle)merc blew up its tranny couple of weeks ago. It current mileage is 246000 and the engine still run as strong as ever. The reason why I still have much love for the car is because its the Quickest Diesel Mercedes I have ever driven! I beat my roommates 1995 Volkswagen Jetta Gas on a 0-60 stretch and as well as the top speed and thus it gain its respect around my friends. I have been looking for a tranny all over but-all-in-vain. Does anyone out there know where i could get one at a 'reasonable' price as i have come to learn that mercedes parts are not cheap I just have to look for reasonable prices!

I would try and check with a local transmission shop, and see if they have any connections. The shop that did my transmission, used their connections to locate me a used factory rebuilt tranmission with less than 5,000 miles...
