'79 300SD Turbo Diesel
Hey all,
I'm new to Mecedes and new to diesel engines. I just acquired this car and want to be proactive in it's care and maintainence. In doing a search on the car, I found someone selling the same make, model and year not too far from me. Asking price is $700.00. Would that be a smart investment for me? Tips and advice, serious or funny would be appreciated.

Depending on what your car needs... I would say, go for it, if you have the mulah. Many forum members have multiple mb diesels.

As of now, I don't think it needs much if anything. I'm just trying to prevent treasure hunts in the middle of Winter, ya know?

Extra driver/parts
Having an extra even if only for parts is a great idea if you have space for it. The 116 chassis is built like a tank but it still needs parts if you wreck it.
If it's not a rust bucket go for it. Like the proverb too
