Looking at 1983 300td
I am considering buying a 1983 diesel wagon with approximately 140,000 miles on it for about $2,500. The car has been parked for about 7 years. The owner said it started up fine when he decided to sell it but the motor will not turn over now. What are your thoughts? The rust isn't bad and the interior is ok.

Take another good battery with you, see for yourself. And keep in mind, trust nothing but what you can confirm yourself. For all you know it hasn't run in 7 years due to a siezed motor. Keep that in perspective and you won't get shafted. Buying a used car thats non-operational is pure case of "CAVIAT EMPTOR"

It could be a sweet ride if you can tell the motor is not seized, and you like the car. I'll bet if you take $1800 cash you'll have the car.
