When I saw this one the other day I thought damn--If only I had waited a little longer I could've bought this one.

I wanted the third seat and settled for one without.

Oh well, with 147k and everything else just as nice I figure for $3500 for mine I can't complain.

Cheers,

Bill

I'm a little suspicious of that zero-feedback bidder who bid it so high so quickly. Not that I think it's a shill bidder, but I suspect it's someone who will retract their bids or fail to pay just because, well, weird bidding. I don't think 207timb knows what (s)he's doing.

Hmm.

Nice car......I hope those records they do have will verifythat milage claim, and not come out the typical "oh we lost those records. Yes the possible shill bid with a disposible account (no feedback) is a concern.

Would I be correct in assuming that you're the seller?

207timb may or may not be very experienced. The ID was only registered a couple of days ago. Not that there's anything wrong with that - the user may have registered expressly to try to win this car.

Yeah, that's my guess. That seller's listing just doesn't sound like the kind of yahoo who would shill-bid. My point is that it's likely that inexperienced bidder will drive the price up, then flake out upon (or just short of) winning, just based on the bidding behavior so far.

Or it could just be someone who really, really wants that car. In which case I hope the little feller wins it

Yes it is my car and NO I AM NOT BIDDING ON MY OWN CAR. Yes I am yelling. I figured that there would be some yahoos on this forum that like to think negative all the time. Give it a rest. I have emailed the bidder with zero feedback to get there contact info. I have no control over who bids.

Oh well some will, some want, so what.

Why not offer it to someone on the forum first? It would keep naysayers off your back and maybe make someone happy.

BTW--I , on this item, was not a negative but sure wish I would've held off on my purchase.

Nice car...

Cheers,

Bill

Yeah, what Bill said.

I think offering it here first would have been a good idea. You could always run it later on e-bay if no takers. Aside from a couple very minor items, it appears to be a really nice example. Hope you get a good price for it and from an appreciative owner.

Webwench, when you gonna change that avitar............... even my two dogs are starting to complain.

Wes

Nice looking wagon. Certainly would have had my interest if offered here. Bidder probably been looking for a while and has a car itch that absolutely needs to be scratched.

Me think you doth protest too much!! You will clean up on this one-there was one out west w/a few less miles that went for almost $11,000!(& an '82 to boot!).It sure does look good, though-sure to wind up out of everybody's price range!

Since you've decided, as you say, to yell, I recommend that you carefully read back through this thread. Consider which, of all these posts, contains any content that genuinely invites yelling from you.

Be specific, as I just don't see who's being such an awful "yahoo". It seems pretty tame and reasonable to me. Lots of nice things said about the car, a few words of caution expressed about a zero-feedback bidder, and further comments discussing said bidder (never strongly suggesting that it was a shill bidder, leaning the opposite way, actually).

Gee whiz, I think even boneheaddoctor is being a pussycat!

Please bear in mind that by selling on eBay, you're keeping company, so to speak, with a lot of other sellers. These sellers run the range from honest citizens to outright con artists, and all points in between, so people have learned to be cautious if not outright suspicious. It just goes with the territory.

I buy and sell on eBay sometimes, too, and I get tired of hearing all the generalizations about fraudulent and dishonest sellers. I try not to get too bent out of shape over it, though, and just keep on doing the right thing.
