So I think I got the benz for a reason to buy obscure tools/quick wastegate question

Trap recall done and tools in hand(toolbox) I decided to take my wastegate, egr, intake tubes, etc out and do a good once over, rebuild, cleaning. I have just finished my fourth trip to the parts place to get a tool to get the bolts I stripped out......aaarrrrrghhh. stupid allen head crap.

Does anybody know the best practice for removing the wastegate? Do I have to take the entire thing out or can I get buy with the vacuum unit removal only? Thank you in advance for your help.

You didn't mention which type of turbo you have but from your description it's probably the Garrett. This should help you:

If your feeling lucky you may want to look at this:

Allen heads:

You have to have a nice set of allen tools (in both SAE and Metric) I use allen bolts everyday, and have never had a problem stripping them out. A nice set of Ball-End allen wrenches is worth every penny spent on them.
