Here we go again! (DIESEL PERFORMANCE INTAKE)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7940945961&category=38634

DIESEL PROFORMANCE INTAKE!!!

Hey, it looks pretty decent in my eyes, I really like the way that he made the oil separator.

Plus, he completly pimped out everything, intercooled, propane injection, boost and pyro gauges, IMHO it doesnt look half bad, but its a bit pricey

That Cam tower cover is hot! lol.. I would like to see the rest of this car!

Opinions?

I got that.....not too happy with the oil seperator...it leaks but then I have the older design.....

If you get it remember to keep the air cleaner oiled.....it doesn't work very well as a filter if its dry.

Those intercooler pipe are seriously half-assed....PVC and Black plastic piping is seriously bad to use in that application....

Maybe he's counting on hp gains derived from melted PVC entering the combustion chambers.

lol.....
you could make the same 'catch can' out of a 20oz coke bottle....put 3/4 hose on the top of the bottle, mount it upside down and put your breather hose into the bottom, then drill 4 holes in the bottom (around the hole you just drilled) and you are all set.

I have the same style intake, I bought one for a honda civic and cut the tube to length so it worked on my D....i definatly dont have near as much money into my setup as he does!!

What's really funny is the only thing that is worth a crap here is the intercooler, it's plastic but so is the one in our Jetta and so probably in the new E320CDI. But yes they are half ass done. The K&N does not filter as well as stock filter and on a turbo 1.9 L engine has less then 1/2 hp increase, but it's a heck of a lot cheaper till you find out much the Silicon increases in the oil with K&N. Silicon is dirt in the engine oil and causes ware.

The one thing I found interesting there is that he is making a gauge pod that fits where the ash tray is, I am making the same exact thing!! Today I just installed a new kenwood hi-tech radio....yeah, was tons of fun.... But now that it is in and working I do say I will never miss my becker

I just went to Parts 'R' Us and got the cheapest intake they had, cut it up, and used the excess aluminum tubing as the catch can. I should get a pic up sometime..

When I had my car apart for the headgasket I almost had the valve cover anodized silver. Would have looked really nice. RT
