87 300dt thermostat

I recently changed out my T-stat. Before, it was functional and held temps between 80 and 100C. The new one controls the temps between 95 and 105C. There has been much discussion about inaccuracies regarding T-stats, but is there a way of finding a lower temp T-Stat without buying 10 and testing them all in hot water? Will the factory part be more accurate? Want to keep the temps as low as possible because of the 14 head . Thanks for info.
O.

I would suspect the temp sender or guage before the thermostat, they are usually correct, unless you got the wrong one.
