1981 300D Blower Fan Problem

I posted a thread earlier but have no responses, i guess i was too vague, since the posting ive noticed that when i start the car, while waiting for the blow plugs to heat, there is a clicking sound coming from in or around the sensor, it clicks maybe five times in total, but the fan doesnt come on, I'm wondering if this is a fuse problem, if so, where do i find the fuse that controls the bloser fan. Is there some way of telling what the problem could be stemming from? all else in the car is working perfectly. Please, someone help!
