PB blaster is a very good solvent (spray, like WD-40) It is yellow in color, rust preventative, and some of the best penatrating lube ive seen/used. They sell it at any auto parts store, and even wal-mart.
As for the GP's the are not hard to r/r the 3rd and 5th are a bit challenging, but nothing that you cant handle. BTW- the wrench size is a 12, if you didnt already know. |
thanks alot. :)

It's just a penetrating oil. Kinda like WD-40. Check Ace Hardware, Home Depot, Walmart, etc...

i got the pb blaster, had to got to autozone where i have a friend because walmart wouldnt sell it to me. i also found the .004 feeler guage. it was in my old set it was just stuck to one of the others so i couldnt see it. the glow plug reamer came yesterday and the parts should be here on friday.cant wait to see if the new glow plugs and the updated relay will make a difference.i also cant wait to adjust the valves since i dont think it has been done in many many years(aunt owned it before dad,and dad didnt know how or wanna take the time to do it). i have almost finished taking what i can use off the parts car. i just need to remove the motor mounts i put in it. the only rust i have been ablwe to find on my new sd was the battery tray and under the tray. i removed the tray from my parts car stripped it of old paint, wire brushed the rust off and treated it with por-15. the old battery leaked really bad and had a discharge problem. just thought i would update and say thanks for all the help everyone gave me

i even made one of the adjusting wrenches

if you go get a couple of ratcheting box end wrenches from sears, you wont have to remove the injector lines...youll need the straight ones, and not the angle ended type, 8mm and 12mm for the glow plugs....no sense making the job harder than it has to be :)
