Silicone: What would we do without the sticky stuff?

You know I have this pesty little control panel up above the Climate Control just behind the rearview mirror, that is considered my dome light, map/book light. It kept falling down. I guess it was just worn out. I was puzzled as what to do. I couldn't think of a thing. I even started a thread. Low and behold, Brian Carlton tells me to use silicone and build up the inside edges. It worked. Thanks, Brian. What have you done with silicone? I bet there are some interesting stories behind all of that sticky glue.
