Update: Ii

So my Nissen radiator arrived yeserday just as promised. But.........it was damaged in transit :( The lower plastic neck was cracked. The plastic appeared weak, thin and brittle.

I give Radiator.com top honors for their prompt customer service. However they get an F for packaging. It was packaged in a single thin carton with thin foam on each corner only. FedEx dropped it off with box already open

This time I requested to exchange replacement with Berh for an additional $100. In the course of events I lost any price advantage gained earlier. I demanded double packaging for the replacement. We'll see what happens next...

ADVICE: Do not purchase mail order radiator without double packaging!

I must have got very luckly because when I ordered my Behr it just came in a big Behr box. I think it is covered and held in by foam. They don't want to double box things because shipping costs more.

Question for the W123 folks:

My plastic radiator is leaking at the top seam and the drain. I have an older, all metal radiator from my '78 300D. I was going to have that recored. I have a turbo diesel, but I'm not using the recirculating system, and the radiators are quite different. Anyone know if the turbo radiators really cool better? I haven't noticed they are thicker or have more core area, so I'm thinking not, but.....
