Removing antena mast

After playing with the antenna I got it moving. Appears that the mast has some dammage on it. Read a post that said I could send it up, then hold it, have someone send it down (clutch would slip) then up again and pull and it would come out. Placing back in is the opposite.

Is it really that easy, no bolts?

Yes if the plastic part hasn't busted then thats all there is.

When I did mine I had my dad stand there to catch it so it didn't scratch the car. If you put it down then unscrew the nut at the base and then put it up it will pop right out.

Not quite that easy. But almost. You have to loosen the upper threaded fitting on the antenna adapter. The part the is immediately beneath the antenna top "knob" when the antenna is fully retracted. The fitting usually has two wrench flats. Not the larger hexagonal nut.
Loosen the fitting, extend the antenna fully, then pull it the rest of the way out. Installation is the reverse. Insert antenna cable into adapter, retract antenna, then tighten fitting. If you are lucky, the plastic cable will thread itself properly. If you are not lucky, you might have to remove the cover plate on the motor section and help things out.
