PUNISH THE EVIL, Filthy, Stinking, Polluting DIESEL OWNERS.

1,440,000 hits for ANTI diesel on the WWW.
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=ANTI+diesel

How can these sick minded idiots be believed by rational humans???
Then they come up with trash like this.
http://www.green-trust.org/2004/12/north-carolina-anti-recycling-anti.html

I am blasted sick of gasser people shooting off their mouth about diesel, WVO, SVO and biodiesel, when they are ignorant and uninformed.

Am I the only ticked off diesel owner???

Hey Roy:

What I usually encounter is friendly banter. I get teased alot at work but I ask for most of it.

Occasionally I get a smarta$$ remark from someone about the smog pumping out of my car (like crap doesn't come out the backend of their gassers ... ), but honestly I don't get a lot of enviros on my back about it. Thank heaven. Maybe if I were near Calif., I'd have more trouble.
Mostly, I get jokes about how slow my car must be or how it's a "clunker." Since I drive a 603, they usually shut up as soon as they get in it for any signifigant ride.

But as far as ignorant people shooting off at the mouth on diesel, they are probably in the same category as PETA or anti-gun people: they have an agenda, and they won't let anything stop them, including such nuisances as the truth, the facts, logic, or research.

Diesel technology will become accepted in the US in the coming years. It has to. Hybrid cars cannot be manufactured in the quantity or size vehicles that US consumers are going to flock to nor are they particularly suited to high speed, long distance commuting that is common today. Fuel cell technology, while promising, is a long way off as is the infrastructure to support it. As the manufacturers are pushed to produce ever more efficient vehicles and the cost of fuel continues to rise, diesel will Europe has already figured this out. Hybrids are not all bad, just not suited to ALL applications. CNG is great but again the infrastructure is not in place to handle it on a consumer level. I ignore the "green weenies" These idiots want us to ride bikes everywhere. They are incredibly naive about how and why the world and economy works. They may be very vocal but they aren't realistic and the general population is not going to pay any attention. RT

Don't worry, the CO2 and CO they make will overcome all of them...

Diesels are coming back, despite all the CR@P GM has come up with to give Diesels a bad name.

Gasser pollutants are invisible where as diesel pollutants are mostly visible. Enough said, ignorant people see black smoke (must be terrible) and nothing out of their "clean burning gassers".

"Your diesel smokes so it is bad for the environment. Unlike my H2" I would imagin their simple minds work about like that.

I stick these people in the same catigory as PETA and those crazy anti gun people. Ignoring them works well.

If gassers are so environmentally safe why do I get a headache when I follow one with my window open. This doesn't happen when I follow a diesel.
If gassers smell better than diesels why is it when I follow a gasser that I ask my passengers, "Who FARTED?"

Well, you could tell them that fuel oil is really premium fuel and gasoline is the cheap stuff. And you'd be telling them the truth, because that's how the industries developed when kerosine was king. Then tell them everything changes. When was the last time you bought whale oil for your lamps? Kerosine replaced whale oil and something will replace fuel oil, eventually. Then smile and ask them just how many dinosaurs does it take to make a barrel of oil? Keep them busy by telling them they need to multiply that number by the daily world consumption of oil. When they do eventually get back to you, ask them how much land area would that many dinosaurs take? At some point they're going to tell you it isn't possible to have that many dinosaurs to make that much oil. Then you smile, nod your head, and tell them they're catching on. It sure is fun bursting bubbles, especially the tree hugger types.

Hey, some of us ARE tree huggers.

Really it isn't the 'enviro' types that are causing your worry, its the wannabes. The people who are green because its hip, not because they actually care. Its more hip to criticize someone on the street in front of your friends than it is to do research on different types of emissions and how they affect the environment.

Don't generalize too much, because its those hipster 'environmentalists' that give the people doing the actual environmental work a bad name. Its them who you hate, not me! Lumping real environmentalists in with hipsters is the same sort of disservice as lumping well maintained diesels in with gross polluters like H2s. Think of it like this, eco-hipsters are the ones leaving nasty post-it notes on your car in front of starbucks, and real environmentalists are the ones quietly trying to keep the air clean enough to keep your kids from getting cancer. Different groups!

I'm not sure I get the dinosaur comment though... Petroleum doesn't really come from dinosaurs anyway, even though it is fun to say, 'dino-diesel'.

peace,
sam

Plus, I'm surprised at what seems to be going on in NC. The director of their energy board, Larry Shirley is a really forward-thinking guy and has done a lot to support both biofuel industry and the grassroots community in NC. I'd like to get some more information about whats going on there. If I find anything out, like from the Piedmont biofuels folks who are out in Chatam county, I'll let you kids know.

peace,
sam

For instance Sam is in no way related to the chick at Goat Rock state beach who threatend to kill me last year because my dirty car was giving her newborn baby girl cancer. Folks can be a little radical out here.

Nope! I'm ticked off enough that I'm dedicating an entire webpage to diesel advocacy.

If school doesn't get in the way, I may even finish it!
