Check this out, this car was in the shop quite a few times about two years ago when I took these pictures. I'd love to have a diesel W108! Were there any ever made for europe? I drove this one on one occasion as well and I do have to say, It wasn't bad, I'd love to get one (although with a turbo)! I saw it in the washington post a few weeks later for $10,000...

The 108's never came with a diesel although I heard from psfred that is was a common conversion over there. I've also heard other members, including myself, that wished they had one as well. I've only seen one other but it had a 220 diesel motor in it. The pics of yours are too small so I can't see if it has 4 or 5 cylinders.

Looks like it used to have a V8 in there before its conversion.

Makes sense, since I would imagine a V8 car would have beefier suspension than a 6'er, so it could handle the weight of the 617.

it was a 69, i dont think the 4.5's came along untill 70 or 71?? I'm probably wrong. Its defintiyl a 5 cyl, the 240 engine just would look very small in that bay lol.

There's two 108's in the local junkyard near here. If I come across another 617 engine I might think about converting one....
