When the limp mode comes on does it stay on untell reset ? My 96e300d runs fine
than looses power up and down is this the limp mode? I have no codes I got
this car back east all of the codes and computer connection are disconected.
I tried to return the car but they went out of business so Im stuck. I turn off
the car for a few min. then the drive fine can you guys help me? Can the plug
connected to the egr valve put the car in the limp mode if unpluged or cut?
Thanks Greg

The computer connections are a major problem, and I don't know what was done to the car to get it running at all. Without the computer in the mix, and no codes, all bets are off, but what you describe could be caused by dirty fuel filters. I would check the two filters for contamination, and if they are both clean then its anyones guess as to what the problem could be. Good luck....

So you just got this car? I would imagine that the EGR valve wire could trip the limp home mode, but chances are that without a computer hooked up you have much, much, bigger problems than an EGR wire. If indeed you did just buy the car as I have gathered, I sincerely hope you knew about the computer being disconnected and negotiated accordingly. Do your speedo or tach or anything even work without it?
