anyone ever attempted to remove a starter on this car?

Their was an excellent write up in the tech forum a few months back. However it was for a W126 where their is tons of room, a W124 might be a little different.

Michael,
The Starter R&R on a W124 diesel is quite simple, only two bolts (no hex like the W123) that are easily accessed from under the car. I did my wagon and it might have taken an hour. YMMV - Mark
