Second car I"ve had the same easy climate contol fix on...

Before you go crazy on it trying to figure out why your fan won't blow try this easy tip. On two different cars now (one 300D, one 300SD) nothing seemed to work in the climate control, and by accident (the first time, after replacing the blower, and putting in a different control unit) by turning the key a very tiny amount back from the run position the fan would start blowing. It seems like over time the spring that pushes it back from the start position weakens and doesn't pop it quite back to where it should be. It seems those crafty German engineers planned on cutting off the power to the climate controls while the car is in the middle of starting, so all the gauges work, but not the blower until the key is nudged that tiny bit more. Hope it can work for you....

One of mine does the same thing. No electricity to the d=climate control system at full CW position.

My SDL had the same problem. I had to drive the car two hours in December with intermittent heat till I remembered that the first time I looked at the car he mentioned it. Once I bumped the key back all was fine.

I replaced the electrical portion of the key switch and that is the piece that houses the spring. I think it was around $20 from Phil here at Fastlane. It can be a pain so plan a couple hours to replace it.

Thanks
David
