GM uses diesels in south america in the S-truck chassis, maybe you could get one of those? This is why the Isuzu Hombre has the longer nose, for the front mount intercooler.

There was a 800 series Tahoe on ebay with a MB OM603 (Inline 6 turbo diesel) in it, but it had tranny problems cuz he was using the stock (gas) tranny so it wouldnt shift by itself.

You live in Canada, right? So you have much more choices for diesels than us Yanks. If I was you, I would snag up a Toyota mini truck with a diesel engine, or even better yet, a Land Cruiser with a 3B engine. This would save you the time and effort of trying to convert everything over to a MB diesel.
