Lost Key, no spare %^&^* dealer...

Well, long time no post...
I've lost the key to my beloved 123 and am having one hell of a time getting a new one. I called the dealer monday morning and gave them my VIN # so they could have a new key made (at another location) well, its wednesday and the key is "backordered"
what a crock!!!!!
Car is on the side of the road right now with a broken flex disk (when you replace a diff u are suppose to put 4 studs in not 2)

sorry to rant, but I'm just frustrated because the cops will probably end up towing my car...thing is its 1/4 mile from my house with the steering wheel locked
aah the humanity

beat them to punch and have it towed your self to home, or call the mercedes roadside assistance folks and have them tow it to the dealership.

Either option beats having those other hacks pulling your ride up on a flatbed by the tie rods and/or then having to deal with their impound yard as they tend to want to store it at some location that is furthest away from your house.

ANY towing oufit can be dangerous, just ask the owner of a nice late model S body that had AAA tow their car to an INDY. The tow truck cracked the oil pan when they lifted it
Fortunately the shop owner saw oil dripping from that area and with the car owner they affronted the AAA driver and pointed this out to make a claim, it was being towed in for something else.

Then there is the AAA driver that gave a jump start to a Mercedes that had a dead battery, with the leads reversed, every electrical module in the car was damaged including the clock. The car was dead in the water (it was a gasser). AAA had to pay up but finally balked over the price of the clock, the total bill was way over a thousand dollars and they were *****in over a $100 clock. AAA argued that clocks don't last very long, it was a 15 - 20 year old car, then out came reports (including mine) of 20+ YO Mercedes clocks that still kept good time. AAA has way too many lawyers they have to keep busy you know
