CBS TV in NYC is planning on doing a story about the MB W210 Spring Perch Failures and MB's foot dragging on doing a recall for what is without a doubt a safety related issue. PLEASE, if you have experienced FIRST HAND a failure or near failure (MB replaced parts) of the Spring Perch on any W210 car contact Richard Bamberger at CBS, his email is: rbamberger@cbs.com

Richard is particularly interested in hearing from those owners who live in the NY/NJ/CT area and who can be used in the story directly. It's important to all of us that MB aknowledge this problem exists and step up to take responsibility for getting it fixed on every car that might fail. This is not just an inconvenience if it fails, it can mean loss of control and injury or death!

I wish it was someone other than CBS doing it.....Rathergate is still rather fresh....

how true....even FORD would have more credibility on this than CBS.

Exactly...this is a real problem and it needs to be pushed by someone with credibility...CBS isn't it.....not at this time anyway. But better than nothing.

I don't know...their credibility is right there on par with the National inquirer right now too.

I think NI has a slight lead tho.

I bet some CBS executives wifes car must have spit out a front spring on her way to Bloomingdales.

You know I bet your right....NI doesn't pretend to be something it isn't. That would give them the edge in integrity.

just sent Rich an email in regards to the issue. I wonder if anything will come out of it.

I just want to have this taken care of at a place that I can trust... Anyone have any ideas for a shop in Connecticut that can take care of this? Specifically Central Connecticut.
