Just got my 1984 190D 2.2!!!

Hello, My name is Dominic and I just received a White 1984 190D 2.2L 5 speed manual (my first manual). Some kind people on this board ran a carfax for me earlier and i thank you once again.

This car is sweet. Took it out w/ my Uncle on the roads and both the car and I did great. Everything works on the car including air, cruise, and sunroof, except the heater (he blocked it off and I don't use it here in the desert anyway). My Uncle owns a body shop in Ontario, California that speacializes in Mercedes (been in business and at the same location since the 60s) and found this damaged car for me. He repaired it, had an awesome mechanic look at it and just drove it down. The current odo reads 260,000 miles but it runs terrific. I feel awesome that this baby is mine and thought I would share the exciment. I'll try to upload some photos later on.

By the way, if it's cool with the mods, my Uncle's body shop is:

Mike's Automotive
546 West California St.
Ontario, CA (forgot the zip)

Ok, now I'm envious. You are a lucky driver. Take good care of that car and enjoy it everyday. I really would try to fix the heater however.

Congrats on your new/old MB.

However, I think your uncle made a mistake blocking off the heater. Despite summer heat, it CAN get cold in SoCal. And not having heat will really compromise your range -- and driving pleasure -- on long cold drives.

And if you ever hope to get a woman to ride with you while she freezes here a$$ off, forget it. My .02.

If your uncle specializes in MBs, he can fix the heater properly.

Yeah, he said he would fix it down the road if I wanted, but I needed the car pretty quick and was most concerned w/ the basic runnings. Since I'll be driving in the SoCal desert (hot 364 days a year ) He said it wasn't imperative to get it fixed just yet---it was easier to block it off.

My first car was a 1967 Ford Ranchero w/o air or heat and I loved that car. As far as women driving in the w/o heat--------I'm married!

Thanks guys
