woohoo got my temps down 10 degrees!
My 240D had always been right around 98-102 since I got it a couple of months ago. The bottom hose going from radiator to thermostat was always much cooler than the upper. Well, I changed the thermostat today, and now the temp stays around 82 to 90 at the most.
Side note: My old thermostat had "92" or "94" written on it, but my new one, "80." So did the PO put in the wrong thermostat? Or perhaps, as someone mentioned in another thread, the "94" refers to the full open temp, and "80" on the new one refers to the 1/2 open or partial open temp? The valve adjustment a couple of days ago and now this. What a great feeling. Thanks to this forum and its archives. Now if only I could figure out the bouncing (see my other "non-TD bounce" thread).
