This is a historic day in regards to energy markets with heating oil already limit up(over 7%) and oil approaching the same level. Diesel is going to be unbelievably expensive within the next two weeks.

BREAKING NEWS! Oil prices are going up! BIG SURPRISE!

It might have been news 3 years ago but with the worthless dollar and the USA's very poor world power its been long overdue.

Actually I noticed diesel prices have gone down at the pump for the first time in recent memory.

At my local station this past weekend it was $4.72/gal. Today when I drove by it was $4.59/gal.

Seven Corners Chevron in northern Virginia dropped $.10 in the last week, from $4.69 to $4.59, prompting a 'topping off'

I'm shocked, shocked I say.

I can't wait for all the whining when it hits $6.

I'm not saying it won't go up. But Lance and Craig's point is that it is always going to go up so we might as well get used to it.

Also I noticed that diesel went down but gasoline stayed the same at $3.79.

I do think diesel and gasoline will end up closer together in price, but the long term trend for both is upward.

Diesel prices did the same thing in Houston about a month ago, before sprouting up $.50 in the span of a few days.

I've noticed that the price difference between stations is higher, same % ?
