Question '82 240D donor AT for '81 300D?

I suspect my '81 300D 722.118 tranny has had it. The B2 servo cylinder wall has a nasty groove worn in it --- which no one has had a sugguestion how to repair (see thread 722.118 transmission B2 servo/piston.

I have found a donor AT from an '82 240D with a blown engine ($200 for whole car). Will the 240D AT bolt up to the '81 300D?

David

I believe it will. Count the number of fasteners holding the tranny pan on. If they are the same (4 I think) then you should be fine. Use the torque converter that looks like it is in the better condition of the two. Look at the part that slides into the tranny. There should not be any wear on the notches.
