Reached that last straw today. Actually, I reached out and grabbed it since I couldn't wait...
The sunroof right lifting angle broke a week ago, and it would not close completely from the lifted position. In that position it makes quite a lot of wind noise and whistling racket at 70, and I have 180 mile trip twice a week. Today, I managed to unscrew and remove the sunroof itself and pick out some of broken pieces so that the sunroof would at least lay flat until I could find a replacement. Not leaving well enough alone, though... I figured I might as well remove and lube the teleflex cable, since it would not be opening closing, or tilting the sunroof soon. I unbolted the end, ran the motor forward until it was done, pulled some more. Then it stopped. Now it is jammed in the guide tube. About half of it came out, past where the motor gripped it, and then it jammed. ![]() I bet I really don't want to know what is involved in removing the rest of the headliner to clear the jam, or replace the guide tube, do I? I am contemplating just caulking the d####d sunroof in place and driving the car it until the rust finishes it off! Anybody want to buy a rolling parts car? Best Regards, Jim |

Why not go one step further, and take out the sunroof completely, and in its place put a big ole sheet of thick plexiglas, and caulk it into place.... Voila! Instant moonroof!
![]() Seriously....sorry to hear about your misfortune.

You probably have already tried this however it helped me get mine out . . . twisting/rotating it while pushing back in from very near the housing then twisting and pulling. I believe yours is stuck tighter than mine was yet you might find this works for you. Keep us posted and of course good luck.

Update: the SDL will be traded away this Friday.
I'll still be around, though. Best Regards, Jim |
