Man, that's a real shame Coach..

Just make sure that you give your new dream as much attention as you can so that maybe you can renew the old one!!

JMJ, I am truly sorry that you have had to make this decision.
As I have said before, if I can help in any way (remotely), just ask.

On a brighter note, You are opening a new door.

Opportunity comes to those who open their own doors. (The law comes after those who open others' doors)

I wish you the best of success in your new venture.

Tony

coachgeo,
I have some interest in this vehicle. Would like to see the rear of the vehicle and if possible inside the cab and bed. my email is pjjam1@aol.com
This may be the unimog bodystyle I have been looking for. What is the fuel mileage? engine is a 6 cyl? how many forward gears? 2 spd axle? rear axle ratio? rpm@60mph?
thanks
Joel

I wish I had the money, I'd be all over that.
617 is a 5 cylinder.

I'll get you more info. directly to your email but I'll answer some of it quickly here cause others will ask.

Will It go 60mph: With the engine up grade to the 125hp diesel yes it will. Would I drive it at 60mph NO. A 404 unimog is more like a tractor, an offroad work truck. It is not desinged for lot of highway driving. On highway you should "average" at around 50 at the top end or the odds are higher of having transmision problems. Some say you should even stop and cool off the transmision every rest stop or so if your doing a sustained speed trip.

Forward/Rev. gears: You would not believe how complicated of an answer this is. My mog is not typical. (404's like my Mog have 6 forward. two reverse.) The modification to mine results in 8 gears forward split into a high range and a low range. You MUST stop movement to switch between high range and low range. There is 4 gears backward using the low range gears. The confusing part is that gear 3 and 4 are shared by both the high range and the low range.

Milage: 10 to 12mgp

Those are just so cool. I wish I could justify one just to show up the soccer moms using Hummers to drop the kids off at school. Good luck!

HAAAA it's easy to get them. You can honestlyput a "HUMMER RESCUE VEHICLE" windshield sticker on about any good four 4wheel drive. Though true such a stikcer on a Mog would say it much more convincingly.
