badge question

OK, I am new to MB, so what are these extra badges I see on the grills of some peoples cars?

are high mileage badges, starting at perhaps 100,000 kilometers. they are given free by benz upon filling out some forms that are availabe, i believe at the dealer. kind of like battle ribbons but for diesel geeks.

Yes indeed they are for the hardcore style MB owners. YOu can also order cheeky ones like counties and othe badges to go on ur grill. They also send you a neat little certificite saying that this car has gone such and such min is on display on my desk. Its a nice thing to have and at no cost to us.

also give out gold lapel pins for a million k or perhaps less. i had one and lost it. it was slick.

The lapel pins are given out starting at 250k miles, or at least they used to be. I have one for 250k in addition to the badge and certificate. The pins are done based on the driver's combined mileage between Benzes, so you can add up all your cars past and present to determine which pin you are eligable for.
