300SD Light Problems

It started a couple of weeks ago, the lights will not come ON imediatly ( the front ones)

Now sometime they do somethime they don't.Checked and changed my fuses still same effect.

Tonite I plane to take apart the switch light and clean it, this "scientific" method was good for the window switches.

Any tips on how to troubleshoot the problem ?

Okay worked a bit on my german tank
Both lights come ON, but only after I start the car and after I do +- 1 Km....
after they are on, they come On and off right away.
When I put my high beams ON I only have the left side and the right side is completly shut, same sympton when I pull on the R and R switch.

I look at the R and R switch, it looks good the protective boot was in place no visible rust or anything to worry, but I still believe it's the root cause of my light gremlins
I will order from e-bay and see if it's fixing the problem
Am I on the right track ?

I would replace the headlight fuses before investing in any parts that cost real money.

Headlight ON delay

Sounds like you have a sticky relay. If I remeber my diagram correctly the selctor lever on column controls a relay (left side firewall) which controls the high-low bulbs.

Hope this helps.

I found my problem and I was the root cause
When i change my headlight for euro headlight I welded the right side wires + some silicon
I had to change my hood lock and played around with that headlight, now when i put a slight pressure on the silicon it working
I didn't took it apart and repair, cause i don't have a garage!!!
and is snowwing and windy every begining of winter my car has some problems but after that she carrys on

Good solder joints are important...espically when it comes to headlamps

Glad you found the problem.
