Pin Head Disintegrates
Sooo...
My turn signals were working intermittently, so after trying the hazard light on/off/on/off trick, I unplugged it (hazard light) to get a better look. The pins seem ok, but the box with the pin-holes had lose pieces in it. when I opened it up, I saw that the female receptor on the red wire had disintegrated. I'm guessing this might be the cause of the irregular turn signals. I can't get it to make contact with the pin, now that the loose piees have fallen off. I'm not sure how to replace this structure. Of course, this is the shortest wire to work with. Any ideas? ![]() sign me: pinhead without a home

You may be able to replace the failing wire/female plug itself. Many of the multi pin plugs have a plastic piece that can be separated, and individual wires replaced. You would have to cut and solder tho. Good luck.

Temporary Fix
Found a temporary fix:
Spend some time with the electrical schematics, and found I could just cap off the red one and be left with no hazard lights (which weren't working anyway...now I know why!). Without the loose red wire, the turn signals work great. The hazard light box has two power sources (from fuse 2 and fuse 12), one is engaged in normal use, and the other when the hazard button is wanted. In theory, if it had been the other power source that I lost, I could have just switched the pin-sleeves...but this is an educated guess, since I didn't need to check it out. Try at your own risk, but I think it should work. Thought this bi might be useful for somebody else.
