Another car accident...:(

So this old man going up to a stop light feels like slamming on the brakes. Me, being unwarned, hit his muther****ing camry. 99% of the damage was on me. So i was wondering where i can get another front bumper? Also, is the expensive, and hard to replace? Thanks

Ouch, that sucks. Our Civic just got squashed in the same manner at 10mph into a high tow hitch except it ran $6k and a month later it's still in the shop becuase they're incompetent.

On the bright side at least it's just the bumper.

What part of the world do you live in? I saw some W126's at the Pull A Parts yesterday that, if I remember correctly, still had the front bumper.

This must be "Have a W126 diesel hit something week." The 300SD was in a fender bender Wednesday night, a slow one at that though, my dad hit a pickup truck who decided to slam his brakes, my dad was going about 3mph, the only damage to the W126 was a bent front license plate, bent plate frame, and bent front plate bracket.

That sucks. No offense but maybe you shouldn't have been following him that close? W126's have awsome brakes. Having owned and lived with a Camry just like the one you hit I know they don't have the best brakes. Even if you were riding him you should have had no trouble stopping without hitting him.

Hopefulyl someone here can hook you up with a good bumper.

I always leave as much following distance up front as possible (no less than 4 car lengths or so), and if people ride my car's posterior I slow down and flash my brake lights at them, usually works.

You best hope his neck wasn't injured to where $100K might fix it.

Angry

Yeah last saturday i got into a minor accident in my SD. Traffic was flowing and i was going a little behind pace so i accelerated a little bit and figured green light traffic will be moving, WRONG!!!! the lady had stopped before crossing the crosswalk and i locked em up and bumped her at about 5 mph, the center verical piece of trim on the grill was a little bent and i had a few scrapes on the bumper. she had minor paint scratching. So my brother works at a dealership (she was driving a benz too c230 99') and i told her versus going to insureance give me a chance to fix it. so i was waiting for her to get an estimate on the damage. when today i get a call saying she claimed on the insureance. I mean it would be one thing if her quarter panel was smahed but we are talking minor paint scarpes gotten out by rubbing compund and some elbow grease. oh well we shall see how it goes.

Sorry to hear about your accident. I had a little accident of my own on Thursday night around 7pm. Here is what happened to my mothers 1998 Oldsmobile after we encountered a 8 point deer on the highway going about 55 mph. It just appeared out of nowhere. She wanted me to drive her to town and we usually take her car. If I had of been in my Suburban, probably would not have been much damage, but who knows. I remember seeing it, slamming the brakes, hearing a huge bang noise, seeing antlers hit the windshield and seeing it fly over top of the car. Luckily, the airbags did not deploy.

Believe it or not, it did not kill the deer instantly. A county sheriff was on the other side of the highway coming down and he immedietly came over. Me and mom were very stunned and set on the ground. We heard rustling over in the leaves on the side of the highway. It was crawling around over there. The officer had to put it out of its misery. The medics came to check us out. One crew of them were glad to take the deer.

Insurance adjusted claimed that the car was totalled when he looked at it this morning. It pressed the radiator support back, but oddly, the radiator is not leaking (for now).

I feel really bad about the deer. I had never hit anything before except a bird. My dad said someone would have probably shot it this season anyway. I read that October thru December is when most deer are hit by cars.

WHen got home i thought it was skunk revenge becasue i could smell them around my house. I felt bad even though it was a skunk. oh well thats in the past.

There was a nice 82 300SD in the Tigard U-Pull-It if you're in the northwest...

I hit a dear with my brand new Hyundai Elantra at 60 mph. Pretty amazing as I hit it with the bumper, watched it fly over the hood and off it into the brush. I was incredibly lucky, no damage at all to the car. (although the less said about the deer, the better) Maybe there is something to be said for plastic cars after all?

Last Year

Last year I was in my wife's company car (Johnson & Johnson)...and I was going 70 mph...I hit 2 deer at the same time and had the airbags deploy. I damn near lost control of the car...The car was totaled and the pharmaceutical company made me get pictures of the deer and the car...then they sent a new car...

Meta6981, I hate people like that... for GOD SAKES ITS JUST A BUMPER... hardly worth the insurance claim crap, and the increased rates... I'd be unhappy, and let her know that you could have fixed it for under a hundred bux (most likely less than her deductable)

I wasnt going to say anything, but I feel bad for the old man who stopped at a stop light... My grampa was hit a few years ago, still hurts but hes too stubborn to admit it, and tell the inshurance company....

SO another car accident? Was the light red? and what happened in the first one...

~Nate
