300 SD at Ebay by a lady

A little bit of the description: Item number: 4587325152

1982 Mercedes-Benz 300SD Turbodiesel NO RESERVE

A great source of parts for the S-class Mercedes

This car was owned by a sophisticated lady hotelier who owns two Lamborghinis and knows how to take care of cars. It was her daily driver – until it met its unfortunate demise through no fault of hers, to her dismay.

The front looks repairable, get some good second hand fenders and hood from a junkyard W126, lights, grille, bumper, do the necessary underhood work, repaint as necessary, and it would be back, but what about the back?

Do you really think it is worth the trouble of all that repair and bodywork?

When it comes to old Mercedes-Benzes the insurance company serverely undervalues the car and may feel it's not worth it and total the car, but I think if there's no damage like frame damage or any other damage that potentially reduces the car's chance of protecting the car's occupants in a future accident after repairs, then it is worth it and that you've got to fight with the insurance company to fix it. If we have any auto body repair guys here, about how much would you think it would cost to repair that 300SD?

no. That car was hit hard. If it has a lot of new mechanical parts, she may be able to get the $500 for parts but that's too much work. See how the LF wheel is displaced?

I didn't see that LF wheel at first. Well, if anyone needs a sooty driver's side tail light, that's the car you need.

From the pics, it looks like she hammered something on the front and got rear ended while doing so.... damn! Car found a buyer for $500. It would actually make a nice parts car for interior bits and a few exterior parts. Most of the interior looks to be in good shape.
