Banjo Line Broke

The other week I noticed some black goop inside the transparent line going from the banjo bolt at the intake manifold to that thing on the firewall. So I broke the bolt loose and kept trying to loosen it, which twisted the banjo line and tore a nice whole in it... yes I did disconnect it from the firewall area. It's pretty close to just falling off now, I taped it but I am definitely not getting the full boost that I should be getting. Can I get a new line (standard vacuum line or what?), or is it permanently attached to the banjo bolt, requiring me to get a new one of those?

Has this happened to anyone else?

The replacement part includes the banjo fitting. But you could likely find some polyethelene tubing at the hardware store that would do the job.

If the break is near the banjo bolt you can heat up the plastic line and re-fit it onto the bolt. Mine was nearly broken off right at the bolt, so I cut the stuff off the bolt and heated the line to soften and expand it. Then while it was hot I put it bak onto the bolt. Good as new.

I'm in Petaluma and I changed my my banjo fitting and line not long ago. I still have the old one if you need something to get you on the road this weekend. You can use it till you get a new one. It has a very small leak but does the job.

You might call Jordans or Smothers on Santa Rosa ave to see if they have a new one.

If you want to use the one I have let me know.
