I wouldn'y buy one thats not an 88. Many upgrades were done in 88 and then they caned it. My instructor worked on the Fierro project and loves the car to this day.

I had a 1984 cyl 4spd, and had wanted one for a long time. I bought it in January, and finally sold it August that same year. I had put about 15000 kms on it then, and really didn't like the car. It was nothing great in the snow, didn't have much power, leaky windows, not very much heat, etc. I couldn't stand it anymore, and got rid of it.
That was 15 years ago. Some day, I'm going to get another one, and stick a VW turbo diesel into it. Consider this one a project, 3rd car. Something to tinker with, and actually use when it's done. Having owned a few Toyotas, and the experience I had with the Fiero, look around and get a MR2. You'll be better off in the long run.

1988 Fiero Runnin A All Aluminum Big Block....
Chevy lives over in northwest Dallas. That sucker will really turn a tire too.
Guy builds small block fieros for other guys but this un is his keeper. Heard his small block ones run in the 10's but the big block of his runs in the low, low 9's. I would like to see a small block one choose off with a certain v-8 lexus from over that way. The Lexus does run 10.4 quarters @ 140 mph with only a tire change to slicks. No urban legend--saw the car do it on a legit drag strip. Dallas does still have some quick cars. Regards Run-em 1983 300 S D -aka - SPARKY THE DIESEL |
