tumbler or steering lock
Before I start replacing parts - could use a little more good advice. My key would not turn the ignition. Removed tumbler and can now turn igintion on with screwdriver. Had planned to replace the tumbler but now am concerned that the problem might be in the steering lock. Is there any simple diagnosis? If I park with the wheels straight ahead and it locks up again, how difficult is it to unjam? Don't really want to replace the wrong part. Also, I don't want to press my luck and have the steering lock in place while I'm away from home (and workshop). Any hints? Thanks.
