Question StarBrite Startron Diesel additive?

StarBrite Startron Diesel additive?

Dear MEMBERS,

Who all have used it?
What were your experiences?
Do you recommend it?
Should 1oz. be used at EVERY fillup?
Where can I find it in Goldsboro, NC area?

Thanks for the advice in advance guys!

I use it and I think it's good stuff. There were some threads about it recently. It's good at cleaning the walls of your fuel tank and killing fungus, though I didn't have that problem, but others did and it worked for them. It also claims to disperse water and improve combustion which in turns helps to clean out the prechambers. My cars did start to run a bit quieter on it after some time. You can get it at any West Marine store.

Didn't see it at my local West Marine a few weeks ago.
I got some other 'multi-function' brand.

I also got one of their highly rated water and dirt removing funnels.
It's got a stainless steel / teflon filter.

In one test I saw, they added 10% water to the fuel, along with a cup of dust.

Filter Funnel

I'm down below 1/4 tank, so I'll get to try both items soon.

A review recommended the funnel, when trying a new source for fuel,
especially boat fuel.

If the attendant insists that his fuel is clean,
they tell him; "Well, I guess we'll find out."

Seems to work about as well as Biobor. You will still need a bunch of filters if you have the fungus.

I use StarTron FDA everytime I put in fuel, my case WVO/RUG blend.
As I've posted loads of times It cleared up my fuel system tank lines and filters right away, while all other additives did nothing.

It will always be in my tank!

You should be able to get it at most Marine supply stores since their line is very popular for boats.

I use it on every fillup an works fine. But its purpose as an enzyme microb killer is just that.

Yes, you funnel as you fill 'er up.
Looks like it might be useful for WVO as well?

I got something called PRI-D
They said a lot of the commercial fishermen use it down here.
I haven't noticed any filter problems, so I'm just after a bio preventative, not a treatment.

It uses no alcohol or cetane boosters.

Their claims include:

stabilize fuel
cleans injectors
fuel economy
reduces smoke & emissions
increases power
inhibits carbon deposits
removes slime and sludge
prevents soot build-up

During storage, PRI-D stabilizes fuel to keep it refinery fresh.
Over time, all diesel fuels begin to deteriorate,
forming deposits of gum, varnish and carbon.
PRI-D's stability chemistry also eliminates the conditions which support algae and slime growths.

Add one ounce for 16 gallons.

I'm down to about 1/8 tank, so I'll test it (and the funnel) when I'm empty.
