Leveler pump - TD engine in sedan
I had this in another thread, with limited success. I just swapped in a TD engine into a 1984 300D. I am trying to figure out how to deal with the leveler pump. Do I remove it and put some sort of seal around the opening? Do I plug the two orifices (or is it orifi?)? DOes any one here have experience with such things?

I woudl think you have to provide a path for the fluid to go- I'd connect them together in a endless loop is my guess. A better idea is to replace the head with a non wagon head and sell the wagon head.

You need to either find a plate or have a plate made to cover the opening in the head for the hydraulic pump. Some Euro engines had a place for the pump, but if SLS wasn't ordered with the sedan the opening was covered with a plate. I almost bought a motor like this for the smoker as it came with a manual tranny also, just didn't have the fundage.

I did the same job years ago. I just made a cover and paper gasket. I hated wasting that TD engine on a sedan but had to do it.
