gas guage
Quote:
Are you certain your fuel guage was not just coming up on it's own unrelated to adjusting climate control? Fuel guages are of the type known as "slow attack / slow recovery". This is so the guage is not bouncing around as fuel sloshes in the tank. Check the fuse for your glow plugs first, then go from there. |

Glow plugs typically last about as long as a 100 watt light bulb! That is that you can expect them to burn out and need replacement from time to time.
Generally, 1 or 2 GP's burned out will create hard starting, or, 1 in four GP's out, hard starting....2 in 5 or 6, hard starting.......on the OM603 diesels, when 2 GP's are burned out, the glow light will not come on! Not sure if the same applies to the 240's four banger, or 5 bangers too! |

In my 240 D one glow plug out will kill the light.
