Washer Fluid Squiter won't work.

Well my car is sort of old and has the old petal pump system on it and it seems to not get enough pressure built up to actually squirt out the fluid. any suggestions that would be cool. home made ideas work the best, something that makes a good laugh.

thanks, ra.

First check the hose for kinks, mine is always getting kinked at the hood hinge. Hopefully, it will be something that simple.

i don't think it is getting kinked because i tried squirting the washer when the hood was up but it didn't work at all.. it was kind of cool to watch the fluid try to get out of the tubes and all.

I believe there is a "Y" where the single tube from the pump joins the squirters and this "Y" also has a one way valve in it so it keeps the fluid up there ready instead of draining back. Try taking the tube off and seeing if this "y" has become plugged.

Check the nozzles on the hood. They get clogged with wax. Use a needle to clean it out and then aim them.
Disconnect the hoses at the pump and see if the pump will actually pump the fluid. Then continue down stream from there.
If the pump is not working the diaphragm could be torn.
