cruise control issue. help!
i think my cruise control is coming on by itself. the accelerator felt like it was sticking and when i hit the brake it let go. now it is speeding up at times like the cruise is set. i have searched the archives for this and have found only limited help. can i unplug the cruise amp? where is this located? it was posted that it is on the forwall by the steering column but mine isn't there.
any help would be great. thank you. gregg

quickest might be to just disconnect the CC actuator towards the front of the engine, drivers side with a rod to the accelerator linkage. Should be a black electrical plug. Assuming your 300SD?

Year and model sure helps in posts
I think you have a defective CC switch.

The CC amp is located underneath the driver's side kick panel next to the steering column, but not on the firewall. It's a bit larger than a pack of cigarettes and has a bright aluminum cover. It has to be there if it's interfering with the operation of the vehicle. Take a look again.........you can't miss it.
