One of my co-workers had one in Phoenix a couple of years ago. We measured the dash of his rental car at about 140F after it had been in the sun all day.

I would want to record a benchmark reading and get it when she is well with no fever. Repeatability readings are good with these.

The Fluke model 62 MINI is a very good one. As previously mentioned, the black paint is must for shiny surfaces. I really like them.
