Exact metric size of fuel screen threads, not the hex?
 

Hi-

I'm trying to fabricate a coolant-based fuel tank heater/pickup for my '84 300D. Does anyone know the exact size of the threaded fuel screen that goes into the bottom of the tank? I don't need to know the size of the hex part of it, just the threaded part.

I'm not sure but I would recommend taking the threaded fuel screen to a hardware store and trying different bolt sizes 'til you find the correct one...

The thread of fuel screen is 36x1.5MM.

Can anyone help me with the size of the fuel gauge sender thread? I am having a fuel tank made for my Used Cooking Oil (UCO) fuel, and I wish to use a Mercedes sender to allow me to use the stock gauge for fuel level on each tank.

Any body have any clue as to where a fitting/bung/flange might be obtained in the US, I've been unable to find anything I could use that has this thread pitch?
