300d Wont Start-Trial and Error

O.K. heres the run done ,I have a 78 300cd that wont start and I think Im on the right track.ANY INPUT ON THIS WOULD BE HELPFULL
# 1 pulled and cleaned injectors
# 2 getting fuel at right pace to injector
# 3 timing is on
# 4 using a large bottle under the hood for a sm fuel tank so fuel is clean
# 5 THIS MAYBE THE ANSWER -when I couldnt get it started ,I returned the battery I was using from my 79 300d wagon back to its tray, when starting the wagon I realized the engine turned alot more faster ,could this be my starter ?
since the battery was the same charge it wasnt a low battery

Starter or high resistance in the connections would be the first reason for one motor spinning faster than the other. After that the next reason is the non starting motor is loaded up with fuel and is partially hydrolocking. After that we don't want to talk about the reasons one motor could be harder to turn than the other.

A few voltage drop tests will tell you if the issue is electrical.

Adding To This

I Also Put New Glow Plugs On And Purged The System Of Air

The Starter Seems Slow So That Might Be The Culprit
Any Other Ideas?

How long has it been since this thing ran? Could be the rings are just gummed up/stuck. May require a pull start to get the engine turning over fast enough the first time.

air leaks at the prefilter or primer pump possible. Try installing a newer style bosch primer pump, it's easy and should cost less than $20. make sure fuel flows freely from fuel tank and change fuel filters if they are old.

broken positive bolt to the starter

Taking off the leads to the starter and the bolt snapped right off with out any force ,the plastic hosing IN the silinoid was brital and someone really must of cranked that bolt down, not good,so I think this might be it.(MY SLOW TURNING MOTOR MIGHT OF BEEN BECAUSE THE POSITIVE CONNECTION THAT WAS TO THE SOLINOID WAS BUSTED WITHIN THE SOILNOID,THIS WAS ENOUGH FOR SOME CONNECTION ,BUT NOT SOLID,THIS IS THE REASON FOR LOCK WASHERS ,SNUG THE WASHER DOWN AND MAYBE A 1/4 TURN AFTER THAT,DONT GORILLA YOUR SILINOID BOLTS!!!!!. Again this is a 78 300 cd and man are those alan bolts to the starter tough to get too. Tightened down as if bolting a pressure chamber ,got the first one to loosen ok,the top one is a bugger ,HAD to buy more sneaky 1/2" extensions and go at it underneath the car,no luck ,soaked it some more last night and are going at it with a helper bar tonite.
