98 E300TD stalls??????

Just had my "B" service, 88k miles, car seems to be running as perfectly as ever.

Then, this morning. Left the car outside (usually garaged), temperature here in Northern Virginia was 40 degrees F. 1/2 mile to first stop light, and the car starts missing on some cylinders....then stalls out!!!! People honking at me, etc.

So I crank the car, and it manages to start. I keep the car "idling" at 1500 RPM and manage to make it to work. When the car is warm -- the rough idling is gone, back to perfect.

?? Bad fuel?? Condensation from high-to-low temperature change? I will find out later today when I start the then-cold car once again.

No computer messages on dashboard.....glowplugs were replaced last year...tank is 1/2 full.

Anyone else experience this?

Check and/or replace your fuel filters. They may be clogged to the point of not getting enough fuel during a cold idle. Could also be an issue with the electronic idle control not functioning properly......
